This section lists a
selection of the most well known Quo CD bootlegs. Over the last few years there has
been an explosion of Quo CD bootlegs and it is pretty much impossible to try and keep
track of them all. There is also the problem of how to define a bootleg - as with
the computer technology now available it is possible for anyone with a modern P/C to make
their own bootleg CDs.
1990
ROADHOUSE BLUES (Triangle PYCD 050) Junior's Wailing / Someone's Learning / In My

with original copies having a silver & red middle, the first re-pressing a red &
white middle and the last re-pressing a black & white middle.

to 1971. All of the tracks had already appeared, in bootleg form, either on the
"Early Status Quo" album or on the "I Don't Want You" single. The
tracks marked # were recorded as 'The Spectres' and those marked #1 were recorded as 'The

Is There A Better Way / Little Lady / Most Of The Time / Rain / Caroline / / Roll Over Lay
Down / Big Fat Mama / Don't Waste My Time / Bye Bye Johnny. Recorded 'live' at
the Sun Plaza Hall, Tokyo, Japan on the 17th. November 1976. Bootleg C.D. issue of the

(Hallmark HM 015) Whatever you Want / Little Lady / Roll Over Lay Down / Cream Of
The Crop / Who Gets The Love? / Hold You Back / In The Army Now / Rockin' All Over The
World / Don't Waste My Time / Bye Bye Johnny / Dirty Water. "Whatever
You Want" was manufactured in Germany and first appeared in the U.K. in early 1993.
The bootleg was recorded 'live' at Wembley Arena, London on the 7th. July 1988. As the
concert had originally been recorded for a Radio broadcast the sound quality was excellent.
1993 DEMOS (STAR Q)
Down Down / Heavy Daze / Better Times / Long-Legged Girls / Don't Give It Up /
Lonely / She's A Mystery / Ol' Rag Blues / Waiting For The Day / You Set The World On Fire
/ Shady Lady / Invitation / Another Game In Town / Rearrange / (April) Spring Summer And
Wednesdays / Pictures Of Matchstick Men. A thousand copies of this limited
edition bootleg C.D. were made. They were manufactured in Germany in January 1993. The
C.D. was a compilation of various Quo demos and un-issued songs. Sound quality varied from
good to excellent. "Down Down" (with the "Rock 'Til You Drop" intro)
was a 'live' recording taken from the "Rock 'Til You Drop" video (recorded at
the SE&CC Glasgow on the 21st. September 1991). "Heavy Daze" and
"Better Times" were the b-sides to the planned "Fakin' The Blues"
single. The next three tracks, "Long-Legged Girls", "Don't Give It Up"
and "Lonely" had previously not been available on C.D - they were the b-sides of
the "Dreamin'", "Red Sky" and "Rollin' Home" singles
respectively. "She's A Mystery" was an Alan Lancaster song recorded here in demo
form and later issued by his Party Boys band. The song was also recorded by The Bombers.
"Ol' Rag Blues" was a demo version of the song with Alan Lancaster on vocals. It
was thought, at the time, that "Waiting For The Day" and "You Set The World
On Fire" were from Francis Rossi's and Bernie Frost's, as yet, unreleased album
"Flying Debris". They were in fact by the Swedish band Freeway and were
correctly titled "Looking For A Way" and "Soul On Fire". The
next four tracks were demos recorded, for the "Whatever You Want" album, at
Trend studios, Dublin in November 1978. Only "Shady Lady" was included on
the album. "Invitation" was later recorded for the "In The Army Now"
album. Both "Another Game In Town" and "Rearrange" have never been
officially released. The recording of "(April) Spring Summer And Wednesdays"
(later included on the "Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon" album) was copied from the
German 'Beat Club' television program and "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" was a
demo recordings.

concert at the Glasgow Apollo Theatre on the 1st. May 1982. The whole concert was included
on the C.D. with the exception of "Caroline" and "Down Down". The
radio broadcast had been in stereo so the sound quality was very good. The tracks from
"Roll Over Lay Down" on disc two were recorded at Quo's appearance at Wembley
Arena on the 7th. July 1988. The same recordings had been used for the "Whatever You
Want" C.D. bootleg, but the sound quality on this C.D. was better. A different
